"One of the best vocalists in the UK"
- Natalie Eve Williams (BBC Introducing)
First emerging with singles My Lover and Not The First, Mica Millar has quickly established herself as one of the North West's most revered, up and coming singer/songwriters.
Her third single, The Defender - a self-penned and produced record, drew high praise from the likes of Goldie (MBE) who, after hearing the rough cut, collaborated with Mica alongside on additional production and mixing.
Since her first intimate single launch in a packed basement venue, Mica has gone on to perform headline shows across the UK including two sell-out shows at The Deaf Institute and Band on The Wall. Festival and showcase appearances have included, Manchester International Festival, Soundwave Festival (Croatia), The Liverpool Philharmonic, Iluvlive London, The Contact Theatre and The Lowry Theatre.
A firm BBC Music favourite, Mica was awarded BBC Introducing's prestigious "Single of The Week" for Not The First which was playlisted across forty BBC stations and featured on Jo Whiley’s BBC Radio 2 show where she was tipped as BBC Introducing's "artist to watch”. She has represented BBC Introducing for BBC Manchester’s Children in Need live showcase 2017 & 2018 and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual Christmas showcase. Since, Mica toured as a guest vocalist with Joy Division Orchestrated performing at Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House.
Mica is currently working on her forthcoming, self-produced debut album with contributions from producer/engineers David Z (Prince/Etta James) and Vince Chiarito (Black Pumas), musicians Bobby Sparks (Snarkey Puppy), Miles James (Michael Kiwanuka/Tom Misch), Brandon Rose (Marcus Miller) and many more.
